ATJJBEBTT Indiana Harbor Han Arrested on Nasty Chargs, Gets Away Unmolested. W. ? i!t. Indiana Harbor the iv.-in who xv.-i tmind over to tne circuit court under h. avy bond, on a statutory char ft-. iS II" w ,-n lfll,.f This Is the second tin-.e that Osier his been Riven h:s liberty since his arrest on complaint of parents of a little ftirl llvin In K.ist Chicago. After his arrest, he furnished bond with Room Ooorpio as surety. li-fore his trial, "leorgio withdrew his bond and slr was put in Then leputy Sheriff Olds, who sjid that he was acting under instructions from the sheriff's office, came to Kast C'hicafto ami took Osier to Hammond. In Hammond, it was discovered that no papers were or. tile in the sheriff's office aftainst Osier and accordingly he was released. The next morning;, however. Oslr voluntarily showed up at the Kast Chicago police station. His hearing was before the East Chtoapo city court yesterday morning. The judge took the matter under advisement until afternoon and in the interim Osier unmolested walked out of the city hall. Today, his whereabouts are unknown. Court Bailiff Ppecter says that he did not know the man's status In the city court, naturally supposing that he was under bond. The records show that evidence of a serious nature was presented against Osier and that he is bound over to the higher court. Yet he is gone and th'.re is no bond up f.p his reappearance. A search was made for him last night but at noon today his wheroabouts had not been discovered. 0 When such a large organization as that of the United States Food Clubs is undertaken many questions arise. The first one to present Itself In this case is: Why form another organization when there are so many already? The answer is easy. There is no other organization that can do the work. Many other organizations are willing to help. Many organizations have given great assist ance. The United States food administration appreciates all that has been done, but there were too many gaps left which could not be ignored. Fiy working through existing organizations some homes would be reached through half a dozen different sources. The great majority of homes, however, were not reached at all. It was necessary that these homes be reached to keep them in touch with the needs of the hour. Hence the ' 'iod clubs. There is another reason why existing organizations could not satisfy nil requirements. A !iterar society, for example, would meet to discuss food problems. The, same program would be given, perhaps, aji that carried out by a food club. The literary society would still think of itself as a literary society doing work different from Its usual line. The food club, on the other hand, realizes that it Is doing its own work. When four thousand food clubs am at work, conscious that they are doing the work for which they were created, there will he greater interest and greater results than would otherwise be possible. A special organization is necessary to fight our food battles at home Just as surely as a special organization was needed to fight the battle.i in France. The war department created the national army. The United States food administration for Indiana Is organizing the United States food clubs. Be ready to Join a United States food club in your neighborhood. rSpiriAi, To The) Timss CROWN POIXT. IND., Aug. 23. Aug. 23 American Masonic leaders today spurned the idea that Masonry in this country will lend itself to what is believed to be a peace propaganda movement with the Germanic Masonry. A recent. Masonic conference In Germay was thought to be backed by the kaiser, who wanted American Masons to be infiueced by the Teutonic organization. "The true Free Masons of the United States do not desire to aid In hrlsini? about any kind of peace except such a one as shall meet the full approval of the government of the United States." said George F.
