I have refused cards and many of them this week to women who esked for a sugir card for canning purposes when they had nothing to can. and no intention to use it for this purpose. I have been called upon to do many unrleasant thir.ps during the past few days in order to prevent hoarding of; sugar and wasting 0 sugar. In stopint? 1 these leaks it is necessary to have the assistance of the housewives, and ask them if be patient, and not ask for any siit'fir in excess cf the amount alloted to them which they ran ob'iin at their groceries without an order, unless they Intend to use this sugar for canning ' purposes.
