The Business Girls' league of Kast .Chicago-Indiana Harbor enjoyed thiMr first annual outing at Whiting- Park last evening and a very good representative number of members were present. A picnic luncheon was served and the later evening enjoyed in Fames and various amusements adapted to the out of doors. The League is looking forward to the returnhere of Mrs. Palsy Barr who recently conducted so successful an evangelistic campaign and will be in this city for a brief time, he coming week. It the intention of the president of th League to have Mrs. Barr address the girls cne evening and has sent a telegram in advance that a date may be secured. Full announcement of this meeting will be given publicity in these columns and members are urged to watch for the date and hour of meeting which may be secured. Many who did n-t have an opportunity to hear Mrs Barr when she was here before may take the advantage of her coming this time. Her talk to joung women would arouse a proper stimulus cf great benefit to all mankind and instills an incentive for the attitude to be adopted for the. uplift of their sister women. The P. E. P. They will be gone about two weeks and will live the great out of door life, the treasured hope of these boys for many months. The Lady Elks selected Wednesday of this week for their enjoyable outing day. and went to Cedar Lake, where they had a chicken dinner served them on 'he piazza of Mrs. Straits, who had everything in readiness when the gnosis arrived. The trip was made in machines. Bert Clapper. Peter Sterling and Ei Higgins, the three chauffeurs, were the only masculine guests permitted. The day was an ideal one and the game of "5PP," the usual diversion of the club, was participated in upon the green. So successful was this affair that another may soon be arranged for a regular oldfashioned picnic. George Pearse-and son. Charles, are motoring here from Detroit. Mich., to be the guests cf Mrs. A. A. Clark, who Is a daughter of the former and sister of tha latter. Mrs. Frank Dignam of Ivy street con tinues to remain ill. Her health of late has been most discouraging. It is to be trusted that there will soon be a decided change for the better. The Rev. J. W. McCrenahan cf Chicago will rreach both morning and evening at the United Presbyterian church. Indiana Harbor. There will be a congregational meeting on July 20th to which all members are urged to attend. Julius Friedman, who has been on an extended trip east, returned last night. He was in Washington as a representative of the chamber of commerce, then went to New York and to Atlantic City to attend the Elks' national convention. Mrs. Sarah Knight, of 145th street is leaving tomorrow for a trip cf several w eeks to Racine. Wis . the home of relatives. She will go from there to Columbus.
