COMINO ETIHIS. There will be a meeting Wednesday afternoon of the Junior Red Cross of the Lafayette school at the school. A social afternoon will be spent by the members of the Woman's Clulld of St. Paul's Episcopal church Wednesday at the home of llrs. K. O. Wimkler in Detroit street. It will be the final meeting for the year. An all day session of the Deborah So. ciety will be held Wednesday in the jarlors of the First Christian church. Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Renner Hoff-n-.an whose marriage, took place Saturday, June 15th. in Crown Point about twenty of their friends gathered at their horn in Forsythe avenue and f?av8 hem a delightful surprise party. Mrs. Hoffman was formerly Miss Helen PCamp. Dancing; and games were enjoyed during the. evening- and in conclusion refreshments were served. On Friday evening of last week Miss Florence Knott was hostess to severs"! friends at her home in Forsythe avenue. The party was in th nature of a miscellaneous shower and was given complimentary to Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. Leslie Welty. the latter formerly being Miss Mabel Smith. Hammond friends have received announcements of the marriage of Miss Mabel Janet Barron to Charles Frederick Fischer which took place Wednesday. June 19th, in Chieaso. They live on the Indian reservation near Fresno, California.

A packed auditorium to fullest capacity greeted the talent appearing on the first Community Concert given last Sui-day afternoon in the Froebel school aJditorium. Oary. Another free con-, cert is being arranged by Miss Clancy, who has charge of the program and will take place in two weeks, in the sa:re a vil i tiii m. Of special mention were the Polish dancing boys from St. Hedwig's parochial school, who repeated their school auditorium number by request. Miss Sue Yotek. accompanied by Miss Molnar. gave very fine soprano solos and has t splendid soprano voice. Miss Gladys Pnder. from the Drake school, gave a reading. "Mountains of Peace," atvlj'latei played a piano solo. Kllzalieth Watkins. a prominent teacher and artist or Gary, furnished a very fine piano duet, assisted by Miss Vilma Pavis. Miss Watkins assisted with all the program accompaniments for the afternoon. Mis Ftella lewis gave Pel F.Mgo's Shadow March.'" in bed-time garb. Closing the program, the children of the Kxfression Ciafses, under the direction of Miss Clancy, gave two rousing patriotic numbers. "We'll Never Let the Old Flag Fall." and repeated the number given on the Froebel srraduat'.on program. "The Flag of t'nele Sam.'" Followed bv a patriotic tableaux. The children were dressed in appropriate costumes and presented a brillant spectacle f.,r the final number. A similar program will be announced la.er.
