Children's day exercises will be held at the Evangelical church Sunday evening. A fine program has been prepared. Mrs. Agnes Roberts who has been ery ill at her homo in Roberts avenue, was reported slightly improved Tuesday. The, Robertsdale Red Cross auxiliary has purchased a service flag which will l.e dedicated and hung in the Franklin auditorium Friday night. Sixty stars have been placed on tha flag for our Robt rtsdalo ' boys. Miss Beth White of South Chicago, visited frionds here yesterday.

Mrs. Peter Benson of Roberts avenue, is attending the commencement exercises at Perdue university, where her son George Benson, graduates. ' Mrs. Henry Eggers of Lake avenue, was the guest of Mrs. Frank Seliger of Hammond. Tuesday. Mrs. Clemmens and children of South ""hicago. -spent Monday here visiting at the Ehrat home in Lake avenue.

The annual commencement exercises

of the graduates of the Dyer high i

school and St. John township took place Monday evening at St. Joseph's hall. The attendance was very large, the hall being filled to capacty. A fine program was given by the pupils. Tuesday evening the play. "Safety First," was given by the seniors of the I'yer high school. It was a fine play and all parts were acted well. The proceeds will be given to the Red Cross fund. Testerday afternoon the direators of tho First National bank met at the hank's rooms in their regular monthly meeting. Mrs. Hubert Jostes of West Pullman, s-penC several days here w ith relatives. The annual picnic of the pupils of the Dyer public schools took place yesterday, the teachers and pupils enjoying the day's outing very much, after the year's work.
