IS LIFE TO BE HELD SO CHEAPLY? Every sixty hours the white plastue exacts a life in Lake county. With an increased population and crowded conditions we may soon cxpsct tuberculosis killing some one here every forty-eigh hours. The vcar department has already sent back nine Lake county soldiers who have developed the disease. These men must be cart:i for. But more than these must be looked ou: for the children, the mothers, the wage earners. It ia believed that with a county tttoerculosis sanitarium that within a year 147 persons now doom d to die will have their lives preserved. Th cost will riot be much. The taxpayer who pays on a valuation of one thousand dollars -will er.ly bo asked to give t-wenty-f.vo cent? a yar; th" corporation that is assessed on one hundred thousand dollars will only have to give $25. In tie faco of thcse things, in the lieht of the request of our government that we car. for sick soldiers and prevent others from pelting sick, it would be folly not to sign the petition that wili pay the way for the tuberculosis hospital. Suh a hospital wili bring aid end treatment, to the many -who have not the money to go to private sanitariums or to th" sou'hwesa. THEY ARE COMING.
