Be Careful in Using Soap on Your Hair

Most eoapa and prepared shampoos contain too much alkali, which Is very Injurious, as it dries the scalp and makes the lialr brittle. The best thing to us Is just plain mulsificd cocoanut oil, for It ia pure and entirely greaseloss. It's very cheap, and beats the most expensive soaps or anything else all to pieces. Ton can get this at any drug store, and a few ounces v.-.ll last the whole family for months. Simply moisten the hair with water and rub it in. about a teaspoonful Is all that Is required. It makes an abundance, of rich, creamy lather, cleanses thoroughly, and rinses out easily. The hair dries quickly and evenly, and Is soft, fresh looking, bright, fluffy, wavy, and easy to handle. Hestdes, It loosens and takes out every particle of dust, dirt and dandruff. Adv.

H PLAN

Times Bcritt. At State Capital. INDIANAPOLIS. April 15. A plan is being worked out here by retail coal dealers to aid those families who fehould lay in their next winters coa! now hut who are r.ot financially able to do so at this time. Under this plan these customers will be allowed to buy ccal and pay for lr at the rate of a dollar cr so a week. It is proposed to establish an office In a down town bank where applications for coal nill ba received. If a customer wants t e tons, for example, he will pay a dollar a week. If he wants ten tons he will pay two dollars a week, and so on, and h:s payments will be credited in the book. M'hen he has paid in enough money for two tens of coal the two tons wi!l be delivered to him. "tt"hen he has paid in enough for tv. o more tons the additional two tens will be delKered. and so on throughout the season. rZach customer will have the right to designate the retail dealer from whom ha wishes to buy the coal, and the order taken at the bar.k wlll.be turned over to that dealer to be filled by him. The dealers say that under this plan they will be able to store up enough coal to take care of their trade for the entire season, and deliver coal as it !s paid for by the customers, and In this way they will provido against a fuel famine next winter. I'u II details c? the plan have rot ben worked out, but the dealers are working on it and expect to have it rady soon. Any reputable coaler who is in position to hand.'t the business throughout the season will be eligible to join in the arrangement. It is proposed to appoint a governing board of five members, ail high-grade reputable business men outside of the coal business, and this board will serve as an arbitration board to settle disputes between retail dealers end customers. Also, this board will determine whether a coal dealer who applies for membership Is b!e to perform his part of the agreement. If the plan is securely established here It said that it will also be tried out in other plates.

U. S. TAKES BIG STEEL OUTPUT

John A. Topping, president cf the Republic Iron and Stel company, yesterday declared that the government requires 0 to 60 rtr cent of the fteel output of the country, and in view of th heavy demand from regular lines there is little doubt that the company's plants will be fully occupied. '"We have now unexpended appropriations of about $3.011,000, and substantial expend. tures in contemplation," he added. "Total expenditures up to 1D1S were a little more than $34.or0.000. so that Republic Steel can be said to lave been reborn and remade. Tiecentlv there has been a 15 per

an increase of $2,500,100 in the pay roi". Naturally that increase in costs will come out of profits, because the selling price has already been fixed and the government now maintains tne maxfmuni price. I think that we can conclude

Girls If you want plenty of thick, beautiful, slossy, silky hair, do by all means get rid of dandruff, for it will starve your hair and ruin it if you don't. It doesn't do much good to try to brush or wash It out. The only sure way to get rid of dandruff is to dissolve It. then you destroy it entirely. To do this, get about four ounces of ordinary liquid arvon; apply it at night when retiring; use enough to moisten the scalp and rub it in gently wish the finger tips. By morning, most If not all, of your dandruff will be gone, and three or four more applications will completely dissolve and entirely destroy every single sign and trace of it. Tou will find. too. that all itching and digging of the scalp will stop, and your hair will look and feel a hundred times better. You can get liquid arvon at any

drug store. It is inexpensive and four ounces Is all you will need, no matter

how- much dandruff you have. This simple remedy never falls. Adv.
