Deeds, recently received the battle flag of the Zeppelin L-49, which was brought down near Bourbonne, France, in Octotar. The marine corps received the flag from a French lieutenant and passed i on to the aviation officers. It will be placed in the National Museum.

"Word was received here on Thursday afternoon telling of the death of Mrs. Heilcmann. wife of Rev. lleilmann, a former resident of Crown I'dnt and pastor of the German Methodist church tn Crown Point for several years, at her home in Chicago where the family have lied Bince leaving Crown rotnt. Mrs. Hellemann has been in failing health for the past year, having suffered a stroke of paralysis at that time and another on Monday which caused her death. She was the mother of thirteen children, nine of whom survive. The funeral arrangements have not been made at this time. Mike Janos, the Whiting policeman, who was accused of shooting Mrs. Kose Cook, a Whiting woman. In Sept. 1316, was found not guilty in Judge McMahon's court on Thursday. The work of registering alien enemies in Hammond is progressing nicely, according to Chief of Police Peter
Austgen this morning and to da;" about two hundred have made application for registration. It is estimated that there will be a total of f.vr hundred. There are only two dayleft and those having ti register ar-i atked to come early and avoid thrush on the last day, on Saturday Those failing to register in the given time are liable to severe punishment.
