I don't let :ny class do any boxing" at all. They must first learn the fundamental principles, following- ray hands as I outline the movements. It is 'my belief that any young man who knoWa how to box will make a g: eat ba; onet f ghter. He knows how to move., how to stf back, how to shift.
and how to get Ins weight behind the point when jabblrg with the bayonet. He also knows how to avoid thrusting ef the enemy, a distinct advantage. I once saw a boxer give another man a baseball bat and bet his adversary he could not touch him with it. The boxer took the bat away from his opponent three times with ease and never ivaa touched. That taught rr.e far more than anything else could the value of boxing as a defense.
