Miss Clarice Jarneke presided at the piano, Mrs. Gainer, the. music teacher, being ill. Some of the boys showed lackof patriotism by leaving the room when the Star Spigled Banner was sung. They were promptly called down by Miss Fierse. . , School is closed for a one week's vacation. Miss Esther Lightfoot wa.s the guest of Louise Kaske Thursday evening.
SCHERERVILLE The entertainment given by the littl children last Friday nigh;, was largely attended and the play aS appreciated very much. After !h performance Santa Claus isited the crowd. He htd a nice litle talk with the, children and gave each one of them a nice box of candy. A nice speech. was given by Miss Nora A.' I'ineen e.NplainiriK to the parents of the children about the ?hrifl stamp. Miss Pinec-n also urged the gronn-up folks to buy these stamps. The school closed Friday and will be optntd Jan. 7 again.
