TXKX3 BTJEEAU, AT STATE CAPITA!.. XNDIAXAPOUI, 1ND., Dec. 4. Govt"nor Goodrich is expectod to appoint a judge of the supreme court, early this week, to fill the vacancy caused by the ieath of Judga liichard K. Erwtn, of l'ort Wayne, ."several months ago. 11 the two fighting factions of Republicans at 1'ort Wayne can adjust their difference. and agree on one candidate Fort Wayne probably will Ret the place, but if they do not the appointment will, more likely, go to 3. Lcsh, of Huntington, deputy attorney general. There Is said to be liul prospect that the Fort Wayne factions will get together on a man for the place. It is reported here that Harry G. Hogan, Twelfth district chairman, and LewMoore, who managed the Governor's vampaign in Allen county last year, are rooting for II. L. Townse.nd for the judgeship. and that K!n:er Leonard, forro-r tlistrict chairman and an imi.ortant cog in the party machine, faors .1. It. Hose. The Governor doe3 not wish, to tangle up with any factional fig h in Allen county, and unless they iron out their difference he probably v.ill look elsewhere for a judge. According to reports, the Governor probably v.ill anpoint a secretary of K'ate today, to sAceed IZd Jackson, who secured a commission as captain at tne officers' training camp at i'ort Benjamin Harrison, last week. The Ciovertior has been out of the city most of the time since the commissions were issued at the camp, but he was expected back in his office today, and the se-b-ftlon of a man lor secretary of state was one of the first things he was expected to take up. This will leave still another Hmportw.l appointment for the Governor to make, but !t is understod that he will not take up that one until after the lirpt of the year. It is that of a membr of the public service commission, to f.ll the vacancy caused by the death i'j V.. J. Wood, formerly of Evansville. J-se Eschbach, of Warsaw, who, it is sajd. will resign as state conscription scent rather than accept a commission hi major in the United States army, i:? i.-: Iked of as an available man for the I-lace on the public service commission, lut no one knows whom the Governor may select. There has been considerable talk ai'iong the politicians in the last week ocr the movement started in the east for fusion of DeniO'.rats and Perublians in those congressional districts In which the anti-war and pro-German sirength is such as to make possible the election of anti-war congressmen iiext jear. Some of the old-line, rockribbed political wheelhorses, who tifv sco anything good In anything outside their own particular party lines, are opposing the idea, and it also has the position of the pro-Germans, the antiwar pacifists ami . the Socialists. A report from the cast says the movement has the support of William H. Taft, vheadore Roosevelt, Charles E. Hughes, and some of the leading Democrats. Just what form of action the movement may take is not yet known, but plans are under way, it is said, for a national conference of the Republican and Democratic national committees to discuss the matter. It is a question whether it would be necessary for the two parties to combine on a candidate for congress in any of the Indiana districts, for. as far a3

can be judged nosr. there Is little livelihood that the anti-war outfit can hope to carry any district in the state at the election next year. It is said, too, that both parties are certain to nominate straight-out war candidates for congress, because both rarties In Indiana are definitely commit led to the war, regardless of party politics. Some of the leaders say it would only be in case tie pro-German ind pacifist outfit assumed threatening proportions that it would be necessary to talk about a combination In any Indiana district.

Simple Way to End Dandruff

There Is one sure, way that has never failed to remove dandruff at once, and that is to dissolve it, then you destroy it entirely. To do this, just get about four ounces of plain, common liquid arvon from any drug store (this is all you will need), apply It at night when retiring: use enough to moisten the rcalp and rub it In gently with the finger tips. P.y morning, most if not all. of your dandruff will be gone, and three or four more applications will completely dissolve and entirely destroy every single .sicn and trace of it. no matter how 0 much dandruff you may have. Tou will find all itching and digging of the scalp will stop instantly, and your hair will be fluffy, lustrous, glossy, siiky- and soft, and look and feel a hunSred times better. Adv.
