EAST CHICAGO TO HAVE NEW LIGHT SYSTEM East Chicago will change its ornamental lighting system. substituting 'he one light equipment for thi threelight electroliers. Plans and specifications are now in preparation which will provide for the removal cf every pest now in use between corners and the substitution ou the rema.ning posts of one bulb nitrogen lights in place of the three lights now existing. This movement has been eontempla--ed for some time because of the high cost and comparative inefficiency of the present system. Some of the new lights are now in use on Guthrie street an I they are not only much less expensive to maintain but they are far superior to the three-light clusters. It is estimated that the change wi.l cost the city tbout $2,50.i but that the saving the first year will amount to fully $1,900. THE STORK AT GARY. . A son was born last evening to Mrs. R.
