AVhereas. the Indiana. State Board of Health, after having made an investigation of sanitary conditions in the City of Hammond, has determined tuat certain, conditions of an unsanitary 1 ;ittire exist throughout the City, and his called upon the City Authorities lo remedy the same. Therefore, as Mayor of the City of Hammond, I earnestly call , upon all persons throughout the City to observe the 'week commenelnu November 22 and ending November 27th as 'Clean-up-Week.' and that they cause any premises under their control to be, cleaned a,nd put in a strictly sanitary condition at the end of this time. If it is found by the local health authorities that unsanitary conditions exist in any place throughout the City of Hammond, the persons in control of tho property where these unsanitary renditions exist will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and the work of rleaning said premises will then be done by city authorities and the cost thereof charged to and collected from the owners of any such property. All persons are notified that they must collect all icarbasre and deposit the same in a convenient place to be handled hy the health department of the City and that at the end of the week herein designated as "Clean-up-Week," teams will be provided for the purpose of carting away such refuse and gHrbage. The attention of the public is also called to the, fact that there Is a housing law in force throughout the State of Indiana and that any violation of this law will likewise be prosecuted, the purpose being to abate all condi-tion-of unlawful housing found within the Citv of Hammond.
