It has a business district that soon must expand to greatly enlarged proportions. It has north side, east side and south side residential districts which are developing so rapidly that the problem of the extension of public utilities is an increasingly complex one. Then there is the large area south of the present limits of the city that will soon become a portion of Hammond, involving problems of sewer and water extensions, policing and fire protection.
