Stato St. Entente To Strike Thursday. Death To Ven- . izelos - Brahos AutocracySays Pop Michaelis Clabby; Peace Talk All Off. All peace tallc between the merchants of State St. la Hammond and Hohman St. are declared oft. A demand has been made by Premier Monnett that all war preparations be peeded up with a view of having: his men ready to strike on the State street front on Thursday afternoon. What's Vp Kit Sleeve t Hoffman, the State St. - chancellor, has secret plans for combating the Monnett menace and back of the seeming qulesience of the battle lines in the rear of the Pete Brahos cafe there was evident, today, a further development in readiness to take the offensive. Walt To Oo Over Tie Top. Color Is lent to the assumption that operations on a notable scale are in prospect, particularly ' along the Mon-nett-Pop Clabby front by the official accounts of the Intensive aerial work in progress in which photographic observations of a State street battery in action on, a large scale have been carried out by Gen. Ludendorf Monnetts scouts. Ah, Jost Listen To Kerensky. "We are prepared to fight to the death," said Dictator Kerensky Hoffman. "We do not believe it is possible to have & lasting peace In Hammond as long as the existing autocracy rules behind the Monnett redoubts." Old Doc Michaelis Clabby says that "the democratiiation of State St. would make it far easier to negotiate peace." Heaven Help The Schlits! "All this inspired peace talk be-, tween the State St. and Hohman St. camps." the doc continued, "is meant to serve a purpose and muddle the minds of the people of Hammond. We will be slow to consider any peace terms suggested by the Venizolos-Brahos-Hoffman autocracy. In other words we are prepared to defend our country to the last drop of Schlitz beer In Meeker & McCunea." Bet It's A Bomb Show. And so it is impossible to escape the conflict on Thursday afternoon. The State St. merchants of Hammond will fight the HoTlmn St merchants with baseball bats and bomb each ether. The conflict will be awful and the massacre terrible. But there will be no peace in this territory until after the battle. Help, Bed Cross, help!

II THREE STRAIGHT VICTORIES
The Polish Athletic Club of East Chicago.. Ind.. won Its third consecutive victory from the St. Stanislaus nine of Indiana Harbor by the score of 11 to 3, thus breaking their winning streak. Edward Pruchniewski, ono of the Polish nine's stars of East Chicago, started the fourth inning with a twobagger, while Edward Trzcinski bunted, sending Prusohniewski to second. Michael Szafarz, the mighty third baseman popped a two-bagger, scoring Pruchniewski. Joseph Krupa also doubled, scoring Szafarz. then came Teles, one of the big men. who astonished the opponent pitcher, who then threw wild, putting Krupa on third, the next ball pitched Teles bunted, scoring Krupa. Keller made a beautiful one hind catch of Werbella's clout, which would probably cause trouble if missed. Hodor, the catcher, also did enough to beat the opponents by knocking a double with a man on base. Janicki and Grzych did their share by hitting timely. The opponent's received only 4 hits, while the Polish lads nicked Werbella for 8. It was all Krupa's fault for keeping the opponents down, he received 11 strikeouts, while Kerbella received 8. After beating one of the best teams in Indiana Harbor between ages of 16 to IS. the Polish Athletic Club has the privilege of claiming themselves champions of East Chicago of their class. They expect a victory over the Peerless A C. on their meet in August.

Are You the Man Who "Wouldn't Have a Player Piano in His House?" IF so, you are just the sort of person whom we want to meet. For the more keenly you feel the limitations of the piano "player," the easier it will be to interest you in the Ampico Reproducing Piano. The Ampico is not a "player piano" although it can be used as one. It is a new invention of infinitely greater artistic possibilities. It reproduces not merely the notes of a musical composition, but the way a distinguished concert -artist plays those notes. Public "comparison concerts" with some of the greatest living pianists, have proved that the Ampico's reproduction is the artist as clearly, as recognizably as if he himself were seated at the piano. We invite you to Lear the Ampico, at your convenience, in our warerooms. The Ampico may be had in the famous Marshall & Wendell piano at prices from $750 upward.

DYER BEATEN
E MORE
(Special to The Times.) DYER. IND., July 31. Dyer high school was defeated by Lansing on the home field Sunday by a score of 8 to 5. The old story of miserable support again spelled defeat for our lads. Hilbrich aa usual pitched a whale of a game but the "best of "em" are bound to lose with such backing as he received. With good support this lad would have made a Joke of the game, as it was, almost anything the Lansing batters connected with, gave them a lift. Weak flies to the outfield were allowed to drop safely, wild throws occurred with exasperating frequency and on the bases the kids showed badly. The game proved to be a corker in the first eight innings. In the first three innings each team secured four runs and from then on until the
eighth the game hung at four all. The Lansing lads were giving their pitcher some dandy support. Hilbrich was pitching desperately and in the sev
enth saved himself when with runnerj on first and second he made a beauti
ful one-handed pickup at a wicked
smasfl to his left and started a fast
double play. The blowup came In the
ninth and the kids had again thrown
away a game for their brilliant pitch
er. Score by innings: Lansing 3 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 8 D. H. S 1 2 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 S

teith and Jimmy Johnston, manager for Johnny Dundee and Joe. Welling, have started campaigns to land matches with Benny Leonard for their charges. Monteith appears to have the inside track, as John Meismantel of the Broadway Sporting Club of Brooklyn yesterday made an offer of $$.000 to Leonard.
PITTSBURGH. PA., Ju y31. Harry Greb of Pittsburgh proved himself the ring master of Jack Dillon of Indianapolis In a ten-round bout at Forbes
I Field last night. The local boy used a
wicked left that rained lightning on Dillon's face. Dillon played on Greb'a ribs and body in an effort to tire him.
