(Br JIN'GOE.) "With a. very small crowd of fan In attendance Hammond easily won over the West Ends at Parduhn park yesterday. The thermometer had attained its record height for the season, and it appeared that the beach was Setting the attention of the fans, rather than the ball park. The gate showed but five hundred in attendance and as a result the management lost money again. While this sort of weather cuts deeply into the profits of baseball, owner Parduhn feels confident that he will be reimbursed for his losses when his stick artists play a championship series with Albany Park and Waukegan very shortly. He will be content if he breaks even for the season. Hammond clearly out-classed the visitors yesterday. The score was 6 to 0. and it could as easily have been 15 if the Hammond boys had seen fit, for they simply toyed with the south slders thorougout the entire game. It was Just a trifle too warm, however, to pull any unnecessary antics, and after they had got a comfortable lead they loafed. Moll's error was an illustration of how easy they were taking it. It was his second for the season. One of the visitors hit out an easy roller to him. and he touched it and let it roll out of his mitts, but first was as far as the batter ever got. Mokate was the star performer in yesterday's game. Hammond fans will remember that this crack speedmerchant was taken from the West Ends in the early part of the season and he was trying to show up well befor his old club yesterday. You may Judge for yourself whether he did or not. Out of (our times at bat he got three clean, hits, two stolen bases, and nailed four flies that were driven toward him by the visitors. In the seventh the bases were full, two men were down, when Mokate stepped to bat. This was where he fanned. Manager Kavanaugh who is a very close
friend to Mokate was sitting on the beach and he successfully kidded the latter out of a hit. Henning allowed but six hits yesterday, whereas Hammond took elev-. en blows from Pitcher Ornsby. Pete fanned twelve and Ornsby three. Each pitcher allowed but one walk. Box Score

The Recognized Superior Wlalte Pine Cornice Lumber A delicately moulded cornice is the finishing touch in the outside trim of any house whether built of wood or anj other material. It must be durable to withstand the endless exposure to sun and wind and rain it must hojd paint and above all must remain in place perfectly fitted through the entire life of your home. The amount of lumber required for the cornice of any house is not large. For such an item the difference between the cost of White Pine and its cheaper substitutes is not to be considered in the face of greater satisfaction the ease with which it is moulded and its infinitely longer
