The funeral of Mrs. Charles Underwood was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lon McKay, pastor of t he Xazarene church, assisted by Nathan Worley, who preached the funeral sermon. Interment was made in Lowell cemetery. The sorrowing husband and motherless children have the sympathy of the entire community. Richard Cox of Hammond, is visiting his grandmother. Mrs. John Cox. S. C. Dwytr transacted business in Hammond, yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Belshaw were Chicago visitors yesterday. Miss Lela McKay, who has been vlsitng her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. M. McKay, has returned to Lake Forest. III. Milford McXay has entered the service of the United States in the air craft

engineering division of the signal service. Miss Mildred Shoemaker is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. M. McXay. Mrs. S. C. Beebe of Chicago, is visiting relatives in Lowell and vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. George Jones and daughter Dora of Chicago Heights, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Gragg. Mrs. Robert J. Miller has returned to her home In Odebolt, Iowa, after a visit here wtih her mother, Mrs. Louise Miller. Mrs. Maude Henry of Gary, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Frank Sherard. Mrs. E. D. Jones Is visiting with her mother, Mrs. G. M. Deathe, and brother and sisters.
