After a heated pow-wow Fulton left the ring for his dressing room; where he removed the objectionable band. That Fulton hurt his hand again was certain, for he winced with pain as soon as he floored Flynn the last time. Flynn Is OatclaonacL Flynn was hopelessly outclassed from the start. Fulton's great reach was too great a handicap for him to overcome. He landed a number of hard body punches that made Fulton grunt. Fulton weighed 212 pounds and Flynn

Although the birds are the second c,j.c-. for this game they have a few who believe that they will cop, but the abund ance of South Side money seems to offset this Impression. Th Maccabees and the K. of C. will Indulge In their second combat with each other and the Maccabees feel confident of evening It up with the Knights, but It does not seem probable that they will be able to do it for the K. of C have now got some bard hitting team as was seen last Sunday when they crossed the pan 29 times which Is some clouting. The third game on the list is the Forester-Bodster which will take place at 1 p. m. for the cellar championship. If the Forester outfleltirs continue to let singles go through them for triples and home runs the Boosters should have some company way down below.

GOVERNOR

AFTER SHERIFF FOR BOUT LANSING. MICH- July 7. Gov.

Sleeper has instructed Attorney Gen

eral Grosbeck to ascertain if there was an actual iolation of the law In staging a bout between G-otge (Knockout)

Brown and Phil Harrison. Chicago pugilists, at Benton Harbor. July 4. With

presentation of satisfactory evidence. Sheriff Hogue and Prosecuting Attorney Sterling will be summoned to Lansing and proceedings probi-bly will be started for their .emovnt fron office. The tovfiror had v arned them that if the I fcht was pa milted to prjetod such action would follow. "I do not propose to make Michigan a haven fcr Illinois prize fighters," Gov. Sleeper said.

An automobile run from Minneapolis to Fargo and return, a diatanco of 654 iulies in eighteen hours and forty-one minutes, eems impossible, does It not? But this is the record made last week by three Minneapolis motor enthusiasts in an Elgin "Six," a car nelllnr at $985.00. The speed attained for the entire trip was better than 29.4 miles an hour. The motor was not stopped for twenty hours. On the homeward

stretch from St, Cloud to Minneapolis, a run of 68 miles, the distance Vas made in one hour and thirty-seven minutes, or at an average speed of 41.9 miles per

hour. The Elgin Fargo-Minncapolls and re

turn run was made on Saturday, Au

gust 2, I. J. Hentschell automobile edi

tor of The Tribune, acting as observer;

Charles ReHly. president of tho Reilly

Herz company, driver, and John Nilssorl. mechanic. The run was made over the

"Red Trail Route."

Road conditions were miserable. The

heavy rains of Friday, August 1. made

the roads almost impassable in spots.

But the Elgin six blasted its way

through the sands of Anoka county

with the same case that it traversed the gumbo of the Red River valley. The

Red trail route is not a bad highway for automobile travel, but when soaked by an all night's rain it surely becomes not only bad. but very treacherous in spots. It must be also taken in consideration that the run was partly made at night. Night travel at a high rate of speed over familiar roads is bad enough, but when coupled with uncertainty and a rain-soaked highway, the Elgin run looms up as a most remarkable performance. The performance for endurance and speed is probably the best record ever attained anywhere, especially when the conditions under which the run was made are taken Into consideration ' Tt

surely demonstrated that the Elgin j "six" at 985 is the best and the mnt ; honest automobile value of today. j From Minneapolis Tribune.

Those Healthy, Dirty Hands! There is somethinj? very tragic, to one who knows children, about the cleanness of a sick child's hands. Mothers ought to realize that, and be downright glad when their children are well enough to get dirty enough to require long sessions tvlth stiff brushes and orange sticks and two different soapy waters before even thinking about rinsing.
