It shall be Dolomite Limestone, clean, sound, durable, of a cubical formation as near t.s possible, sharp angled, of a uniform duality, and free from thin, flat or shaley pieces. With the exception of the liTiestone "bonding screenings," there shall be no yellow or chalky stone. The "bonding screenings" shall be free from chalk and shall contain not more than 2 per cent silica, and be of a dark brown color. The French Coefficient, made in accordance with the standard method adopted by the American Society for Testing Materials (Committee D-2), shall not be less than 8.5. The hardness shall not be less than 14 end the toughness not less than 8. Tests: Slag. The sl.-tg shall be air cooled blast furnace slag manufactured from the best grade of limestone, and shall have been seasoned in the bank at least two years before being crushed and shipped. It shall weigh at least 2,200 pounds per cubic yard. It shall be clean, sound, durable, sharp-angled, free from iron, or ashes, and o. uniform quality. GENERAL CONDITIONS. Orders will ba placed by the County Highway Superintendent or his authorized assistant, to whom all notices of shipments shall be made. Any undue expense for .mis, men, etc., by which the Highway Superintendent may be put to by failure of contractor to ship within reasonable time or incorrect destination, failure to prepay freight, etc., shall be deducted from amcint due said contractor. The Board of County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids ,and may cancel the contract at any time It Is found that shipments of material is being unduly delayed or Improperly handled. All stone and screenings to be bid on by the ton, and slag by the yard.
