GREATEST RED CROSS WORK RECONSTRUCTION

"The Red Cross is founded fundamentally for the care and comfort of soldiers, but we are not fighting this war alone for the direct efficiency of battle. We are fighting here for infinitely greater objectives. There is no support that can be given to the American ideal, to the American ab-

Jectlves of this war, better and greater than a proper organization of that side of our civilization which we believe Is today Imperiled. "We are fighting against an enemy who had become dominated with a philosophy with an idea for which there is no room in this world with us. Germany is a nation obsessed with the single idea that survival of the strong warrants any action, demands any submergence of the individual to the state, which Justifies their mastry of the world. "Our contention of civilization lies in the tempering of the struggle for existence by the care of the helpless. The survival of the strong, the development of the Individual, must be tempered, or else we return 2,000 years in our civilization. While the Red Cross devotes itself to the strengthening of the strong, to the support of the soldier, it is a duty of the Red Cross illume that part of American character and American Meal which stands for the care of the helpless. "Let us congregate the strength of the whole nation Into the Red Cross in order that it might undertake this, possibly the greatest, work which we have yet to perform, and that it bind the wounds of France!

For the XJpstanding Man at the front, in the trenches, on the firing line in any business, the best food to sustain energy and strength is Shredded Wheat Biscuit, the food that supplies in a digestible form the greatest amount of bodybuilding nutriment at lowest cost. A better-balanced ration than meat, or eggs, or potatoes. Two or three of these Biscuits with milk make a satisfying, nourishing breakfast that puts you in top-notch condition for the day's work. Deliciously wholesome and nourish-! ing for any meal with berries, or other fresh fruits. Made ;at Niagara Falls, N. Y.

Must Pay for Full Year. Peter J. Kruyer, internal revenue collector for the district of Indiana. The government fiscal year begins July 1, when all revenue taxes are due.
