Twenty thousand people at recent pro-allfr massmeeting in Madrid bull ring. Although the present Spanish government is undoubtedly pro-German, the business interests and people generally are strongly for the allies. This is one of the explanations of the present unrest and threatened revolution in Spain. At a recent big massmeeting in Madrid, pictured above, 20,000 people demanded that the government follow the course of benevolent neutrality toward the allies.

Arrested in Indianapolis Sunday.
INDIANAPOLIS. June 19. Four national guardsmen in the federal service at Hammoivi were arrested by the police at the Union station Sunday fcnd are being h-?ld in the city prison charged with desertion. The arrests were made by Detectives Duncan and Coleman, Motor Policemen Sheehan, Keed, Amsden and Dillane and Patrolmen Dean and Sumner, after a dispatch had been received from army officers. All the men were in civilian clothing'. A bottle of whiskey was found on one cf the men. When questioned they sail that they were all from a Muncie Ind.) company and wero on their way home when arrested. They gave fheir names as Clyde Jenkins. 23 years old. Sidney, O.; Frank Amsden, 30 years oid, Muncie; Edward J. Lewis, 41 years old, Winchester. Ind.. and William Lutton. SS years old. Muncie. They will be held for action by the army officers.

DEATH MAY FOLLOW A consultation of physicians was held yesterday over the case of Louis Solar, 4750 Melville avenue, Eajt Chicago, who a few days ago was hit over the head by Mike Patchman with a two by four scantling;. The men live at the same number and had a back yard quarrel. Patchman hit Solar and knocked him senseless to the ground. Dr. Miller was called and found a bad scalp wound four inches ln length. , Since then it has developed that the skull was fractured and now a blood clot is forming that may result in the
man's death. Patchman is being held, by the police and th outcome is being watched with a good deal of anxiety.
