NEW YORK. June 12. Jess Willard has purchased the -Buffalo Bill Wild West show from Edward Arlington, sole owner, for $105,000 and will continue the show under his own management. The outfit includes two trains of cars. 200 horses, and all equipment. Melville B. Raymond will assist in the management, and Arlington will route and railroad the show. The show opened in Holyoke. Mass., yesterday. It has been out since early spring and has been doing a big business. Arlington's reasons for selling are declared to be a desire to confine his efforts- to railroad work, in which he was manager for the shows of the late James A. Bailey.

The New York Giants have a great baseball machine, but they have displayed more than once a want of braininess. If Jawn McGraw has noticed the flaw he might give his boys an inspiration by setting them a better example. Some feel that Muggsy's behavior on the diamond at times shows a lack of deep thought. As for example when he flies at an umpire in a fury and tweaks his nose or something of the sort.

St. Casimers won its fourth straight victory Sunday by defeating the State Line Twisters, 9 to 7. The Casimers would like to hear from teams averaging from 15 to 17 year old a game for next Sunday. Call Frank Novak, phone 1736.

It was raining, hut the drizzle seemed to be considered the lesser of the two evils. The fire department was called and soon located a broken ammonia pipe in the refrigerating plant in the basement.

$900,000 SUIT AGAINST BALL 'TRUST' OPENS

PHILADELPHIA. PA., June 12. As an aftermath to the dissolution of the Federal League, the magnates of the National and American League clubs defended themselves in Federal court here yesterday against a suit brought by the owners of the defunct Baltimore club fc joon.nno. Th& Baltimore club alleged organized baseball is a trust controlling and dominating every part of the game, even to the manufacture and sale of baseballs. , Stuart S. Janney, representing the Baltimore club, opened up the case for the plaintiff, saying in his address the suit was not an attack upon the integrity of baseball as an institution. He insisted, however, that baseball was. not a sport, but a business at the present time, in which 12,000 men gained their livelihood.

THAT SUNDAY BALL GAME

WAS a "darb." OUTSIDE of the first inning it was A WONDERFUL exhibition of the national pas'time. HAD an Ideal day WITH 10 other Ideals as opponents WE walloped them 6 to 0 AND made it seven straight ALL in one inning too CAN you imagine it! NO use talking HAMMOND has got a real ball club now WITH "Lightning" Knight stationed at short, "RIVER" SHANNON around second THE infield has the appearance of the "old time" Cub machine. WE'LL have to let . the hard-hityng outfield talk for itself. OUTSIDE of getting tangled up with THE every Sunday riding fans HARRT MOLL played an excellent game at third. WHEN Red Hudson received, that split finger THE "Where's Bart" cry rang out BUT after" our own Eddie Brennan showed the old spirit and HOPPED into a suit and finished the games THEY handed him a thundering applause WHICH he surely deserved. OWNER Parduhn didn't make no mistake when he let Heilman go and PUT Mokate in his place MOKATE can bat and field rings around him. SHORTSTOP Novak of the Ideals is a credit to any team. WALSH was "big stick" man, with 3 hits. ROHDE is a lucky guy in getting to first HE seems to get there without hitting the ball. NEXT Sunday THE Roseland Eclipse with a revised team will try and get revenge FOR the beating Hammond handed them in the first game. AND for the benefit of the boys who are going to Join the army we will sing "MY Body Lies Over the Ocean."
