HAMMOND wins. 5 to 2 STILL leading the league AND the way things look they will be on top at the end of the season. THAT'S once the weather man had pity on Paul Parduhn ALLOWED an attendance of 1.153 HAD so much rain lately that some fellow wanted to cash in hie rain check stufT from the Murley contest for Sunday's game AND ticket seller "Abbe" had to do a lot of explaining. AND to think of it. our own boy Clarence Thompson STOZiS second. "DL'TCH" Heilman pulled one of them circus catches in the 5th LOOKED like a hard chance
BUT it wasn't HE just got his feet tangled up. THE new manager, Frank 1'owjer, sure did make some of the players tear for 2nd THAT accounts for Thompson and Hudson's steals. PETITION or no petition "PHILLIGAN" Fewler will be O. K. just as soon as the fans get acquainted with his nature. The old manager. Bill Howard, is going to manage the Galligans HOPE he makes good HERE'S wishing he don't work for beggar's wages. SHANNON, the new shorstop, looked good in Sunday's game CAN'T tell much in 9 innings AT that 'he made a good impression. NO batting heroes In Sunday's game BUT Harry Moll made the "riding fans" come his way WITH his brilliant fielding. "BRAAV'l Hansen is back again GOOD infielder but slow thinker. LEST we forget, who was the gent with the gold nobbed cane and monacle? NEXT Sunday the Ideal Billiards MEMBER what they did to Joe Kowalski last season. WATCH out for the 7th straight victory.

NEW YORK. June 6. Oma Khayyam", William, The Harvester, Rnamer, and twenty or more . other famous
horses "forming the stable of C. K. G
Hillings go under the hammer at auc
tion this afternoon at Belmont track, on
Long Island. Only Uhlan. 1:54 14, and Lou Dillon
l:5SVs, will be retained, and these only
for sentimental purposes.
Curlsneek farm, Richmond, Va., is the home of this remarkable stable of horses, and it will be turned over to
the government for war purposes. Billings will retire from the turf game. He may come back some day. he recently said, but his intention now is to got out permanently. More than $o(n. nno had been expended by Billings in building up the farm where he has stabled some of the most illustrious horses that ever appeared on the track. In AVilllam he has a most remarkable performer. The Harvester has a mark of 2:01 and is the champion trotting stallion. William has equalled the championship mark of Uhlan, who startled the racing world only a short time ago by his brilliant trotting. Omar Khayyam only recently leaped to fame by winning the Kentucky derby from a splendid field of starters. His winnings in that race alone totalled more than J16.000. His original cost was $1,500 when he was purchased in England at auction. In addition to the historical string mentioned Billings will send to the block Peter Dillon. 2:ll1i, and the imported Russian Orloff trotter Bion. Fifty-nine brood mares, thirty-seven of which have records, will be disposed of. Fourteen of these are irt the 2:10 list, their marks ranging from 2:03,j to 2:09ii. The Harvester represented a rrice of $65,000 when he became the property of Billings. Billings has been accustomed to use his trotting horses as saddle horses. Lou Dillon and Uhlan will be retained for this use.
