Crown Point can get some consolation from Its rather poor showing in the recent county athletic contest. Most of its beat high school athletes joined the colors earlier in the season and acording to Crow rPoint standards nre doing much more for their country and mankind jis patriots than as athletes during these troublesome times Owing to the fact that the farmers are exceptionally busy at this time of the year yesterday's horse msrket was hardly up to standard, but few good animals making an appearance. Possibly twenty horses changed hands and were shipped to the city. The usual amount of trading and "swapping" took place and many an old derelict found a new boarding place last evening. For being too strong and handy with a war club, with which he lambasted the countenance of Ands Post, at a chivarl party on Monday evening. Ephriam Siade was fined with costs amounting tto $15. 00 in Judge Bailey's court last evening. Slade inflicted an ugly wound on the scalp of Post, which came within an are of beving disastrous results, and he is lucky to get off so easily. Assault and battery was the charge filed against him. Mrs. Herbert Rarr. who has been visiting her son Harold at Fort Thomas. Ky., wired friends her that 1 he Crown Point contingent of soldier boys would leave today for "somewhere on the eastern sea board." The exact location was given but will be deleted by a selfimposed censorship. The boy are in high spirtis and all anxious to see some active service. After the drilling of two deep wells on the Hixon ar.d Newton farms and the finding of an t.dequate supply of good pure water of a nearly soft composition the city officials are very optimistic that they will obtain a like supply for Crown Point. They will soon commence drilling a deep, well that ought to give the city water patrons a much better quality of water Than they have been able to secure in the past.

Hard to Drop Meat? All depends on what you eat as a substitute. It is a good time to study "food value." You may be eating the wrong foods, the foods that cost moat and give the least nutriment. Shredded Wheat Biscuit contains more real, bodybuilding nutriment, pound for pound, than meat, eggs or potatoes and costs much less. Two of these Biscuits with milk and a little fruit make a nourishing meal at a cost of a few cents. Make Shreddad Wheat your "meat." A satisfying breakfast on which to start the day's work.
