(By L.. W. BOWER, M D A recent issue of the British Medical Journal explains a remarkable discovery of Dr. James Scherer. and described a new process of photography by which n abcess of the liver or the kidney; can be photographed Trom living patients. This will be invaluablu because so many people suffer from kidney disas. and if it can be recognized in time mey, no doubt, can be saved and life prolonged. Such photographs aa can be obtained by this new process will show hether there is a blockade in the intestines or not. -whether the kidneys are normal and able to do the great burden put upon them. Unfortunately, what the liver can't take care of passes on to the kidneys, and the intimate relation between the two often causes a disease of tha kadr.cjs. One of the poisons retained within the system is uric acid in excess. fieath would occur if the kidneys did not wcrk day and night in separating poisons and uric acid from the blood. The danger signals are backache, depressions, aches ajid pains, heaviness, drowsiness, irritability, headaches, chillir.ess, rheumatic twinges, swollen joints or gout. This can be avoided by stimulating the kidneys to jncreased action, and beceuse of its tonic effect on this organ I would advise any one to purchase A nitric, (which is to be had nowadays at almost any drug store), and take it three times a day. together with a pint of hot water, an hour before meals. By gttmg rid of the uric acid you can prevent and cure rheumatism, gout, and the pains and aches due to this uric acid sto"-;d vithin the system. I have found in practice that Anuric (double strength) is more potent than Hthia and In most cases it will dissolve th nrtc arid as. hot wfr dos Adv. April bank clearings were -over "1 p-r cent heavier than a year ago. part of this rise beinj? ilue to higher prices. In a few- lines there is a moderate slowing down, due to economy, to conservatism created by nr. also to greater caution in extending credit to industries working upon a highly inflated basis. In other lines, however, there has Jieen a perceptible speeding up and.a more intense actiiity than at any time since the war. This is especially true of the steel industry, win re order'' are hefng placed right into 101S and cen 19V,i. The demand for s--teel for munitions, railroad equipment, shipbuilding' materials, etc..
