SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT PRODUCING CO.

When you see the Shriners' Minstrels at the urphoum Theater Monday snl Tuesday nmhts. yon will wonder how it was possible to perfect airiatur laliiit in so short a lime; you -will be surprised at the exactness with which all the Mings and dances are "put over" the footlights, and you will b5 agreeably surprised at the professional maimer In which the onUre show s'H s from beyiun ins to end. Of course, you will think tint it must '- a system of some sort and you will bei;m to wonder all about v hut i.s behind it; then possibly you won't either. You may not care anything about how it all marte.d. just as long as you are Ketti'iK satisfaction, but in either ::iso :l will do you good to know-the "why mid wherefore" of it ail The Bren, Producing: Company of Chicago and Kansas City, who are staging the show, have four directors, namely. Messrs. Geo. Stevens, Ilal'.'h Hamilton. Charlie Sapp and Joe 1'reu. Mr. .Stevens or Mr. Hamilton arrives about a week or so abend of the actual dates of the show, organizes tlu talent which the committee in charse has assemble for him, and shows them how t.j Ret started on th biur medley, t unle and ensemble numbers, as well as ivinx out all of the different ballads and mihi sontts which are to hp. listed as "solos" on the program. This is kept tip for a few evenlngrs, when it is time. i.r Mr. Stevens or Mr. Hamilton to depart tor the nfvt show- which the producing company intend? to stage. In tit. meantime. Messrs. Sapp and Isren have finished a show in the last city of their routine and come in to take up the work where the advance director left o;T. Then the finishing rehearsals come on and by the time the final stage rehearsal is ready, every one is letter perfect in his part. Then the day of the show arrives; the entire morning is required to put up the Korgeoua scenic setting; which is termed the "Minstrel First Part," and while Mr. Bren is directing this section of the day's work. Mr. Sapp is busy trying on the magnificent costumes in which the entire company will appear that nipht. Kleven o'clock comes and the parade outfit is put on the performers m.akins them ready for the big street pageant which generally f tarts at noon. The afternoon sees a final stsge rehearsal, and then the. big showis ready to be presented for "public inspection and approval." Mr. Sarp sits in the circle with the local talent, and Mr. Pren directs the orchestra from the piano; they both appear in the second psrt in different well .--.-ranged acts, and in the meantime. Director Stevens or Mr. Hamilton is sonni place else going through the same story over and over again. The Kren company lay especial stress

I'll Hi. lr soloi.sTsT"so as to make fheni feT semble as closely as possible, the professional minstrel; everything goes with a snnp and when it cornea time for a ballad the necessary harmony is there to bring th's sort of song out in the right manner. Wherever they have been this season, the Hrert company has had marvelous success, thus every member of ih audience at Monday and Tuesday nights' shows can expect to see something' worth double the price of admission.
