my hands on the steps, then sit down at the top to rest. The doctor said he thought I should have an operation, and my friends thought I would not live to move into our new house. My daughter asked me

to try Lydia E. Finkham's Vegetable Compound as she had taken it with good results. I did so, my weakness disappeared, I gained in strength, moved into our new home, did all kinds of garden work, shoveled dirt, did buildr ing and cement work, and raised hundreds of chickens and ducks. I canrot say enough in praise of Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound and if these facts are useful you may publish them for the benefit of other women." Mrs. M. O. Alkali In Soap Bad For the Hair

Soap should be used very carefully, if you want to keep your hair looking its best. Most soaps and prepared shampoos contain too much alkali. This dries the scalp, makes the hair brittle, and ruins it. The best thing for steady use, is Just ordinary mulsined cocoanut oil (which is pure and greaseless), and is better than the inosl expensive soap or anything else you can use. One or two teaspoonfuls will cleanse the hair nnd scalp thoroughly. Simply moisten the hair with water and rub it in. It makes an abundance of rich, creamy lather, which rinses out easily, removing every particle of lust, dirt, dandruff and excessive oil. The hair diies quickly and evenly, and it leaves the scalp soft, and the hair fine and silky, bright, lustrous, fluffy and easy to manage. Tou can get mulsined cocoanut oil at any pharmacy, it's very cheap, and a few ounces will supply every member of the family for months. Adv.
