Tom Kokondy of Fast Chicago, the escaped lunatic who eluded Constable Leo Bonaventura 'yesterday afternoon following :i rehearing on his mental condition in Judge Jordan's court, has not yet been apprehended. It was reported this morning that he had been seen at. the bank where he is supposed to have money 011 depost and that it was expected he would return to the bank later in the day. Judge Jordan's decision as a result of the reheating confirmed the findings of the commission that sat upon this matter a week ago. At that time Kokondy was adjudged eligible to the asylum for the insane at Logansjiort. Yesterday Attorney Jeo Meade secured a rehearing upon the presentation of statements, that further evidence would tend to show that bis client was simp. The finding of the judge, however, recommits the man to Logansport. When Constable Bonaventura left his

man for a moment yesterday afternoon to ask the- judge some question, the prisoner took advantage of the opportunity and made his getaway. The. constable has been diligently searching for him ever since, but as yet has not succeeded in getting him. Police oflioers this morning feel very much alarmed that Kokondy is at large. He is known as an extremely dangerous man. especially when he gets hold of the bast bit of li;uor. It will be remembered that he tried to beat out his brains on the bars of his cell a few days ago. Those who know him best, would not be surprised if it became known that Kokondy had thrown himself into the canal or had taken some otlo r muii T to end his life. If, during his freedom, the man should happe'n to get hold of a gun, he might do irreparable damage. As soon as apprehended Kokondy will be placed in a cell at the city jail until a commitment can be obtained assigning him to Iogansport.
