A pretty wedding was solemnized by Dr. T. J. Bassett of the First Methodist church last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Hunt. 155 Fayette street, when their only daughter, Alvis was united in marriage to Harry Frymire. Miss Ohio Fry-mire, sister of the groom was bridesmaid and the groom was attended by Lee Jewctt, a cousin of the bride, and his father, YV. II. "rymire of Claypool, Ind. Little Miss Eleanor Hunt was ring bearer and the ribbon bearers were LaVerne Jewett Schneman and Eugene Hunt. The bride was given away by her father. The Lohengrin "Wedding March was played by Miss Gladys Vadcr of Chicago. The bride's gown was of blue faff eta and georgette crepe and the hridesmaid wore a dainty frock of blue and white voille. son of South Chicago at a pretty ceremony solemnized by the Rev. E. G. Roberts of the Naarene Church at the parsonage last evening at seven-thirty o'aiock. During the ceremony Mrs. .Roberts rendered a program of pretty bridal music. The bride was attired in a suit of navy blue French serge and she carried a bouquet of carnations and ferns. A reception followed at the home of the bride's mother at which the immediate families and a few friends were entertained. A luncheon was served by Mrs. Williams, assisted by Mrs. Homer Beilby. A very interesting demonstration was given yesterday afternoon by Miss Grace Lina Bell before the members of the domestic science department of the Hammond Woman's Club in the Central school kitchen. Miss Bell's demonstration pertained particularly to Christmas and a number of unusual and palatable dishes were prep red. Miniature Christmas tree decorated the service table where salads, conserves and Christmas dainties, prepared by Miss Bell, were displayed. About 75 women were present. The hostesses served a Christmas luncheon. Mrs. Glenn Ebright was chairman for the day and her assistants were: Mrs. B. S. Graves, Mrs. Mac Turner. Mrs. I. R. Taitt, Mrs. A. Stoikowitz, Mrs. Luke Kelly, Mrs. J. Floyd Irish. Mrs. Giles Warner. Mrs. Carl Nelson. Mrs. II. S. Voorheis. and Miss Alice Miller. CHRISTMAS THIMBLE PARTY. Guest day will be observed by the

The Hammond Country Club yesterday was the scene of a musical and thimble party for the ladies of the club and about forty were present to enjoy the afternoon. Mrs. F. O. Paige was heard for the first time in Hammond and she played exquisitely two violin numbers, the "Bercue" and "Sonate-de-Allegre." Mrs. George Hanaucr and Mrs. L. L. Bomberger sang two duets and with Mrs. Max Alaben sang a number of Christmas carols. The program also included numbers by the Ladies Quartette, composed by Mrs. Hannauer, Mrs. T. W. Oberlin. Mrs. M. E. First, Mrs. Bomberger. Mrs. Julius Dunsing. Mrs. G. D. Helgen. Mrs. Allaben and Mrs. John F. Wilhelm. Tea and cakes were served at the conclusion of tho program. Mrs. Julius H. Meyn. The members of the Amethyst Club were entertained pleasantly at a thimble party yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Paul Klitzke in Kenwood. A dainty luncheon was served the guests. The club will not meet again until after the holidays. HOLD REGULAR' MEETING. There was a meeting on Wednesday afternoon of the Jewish Ladies' Aid Socoiety et the home of Mrs. Emil Pillischer in Waltham street. The business meeting was followed with a very enjoyable social hour. Mrs. A. C'ohn of Highland street will be hostess at the next meeting in three weeks. CLUB IS ENTERTAINED. Mrs. Henry Morris entertained informallyat a Christmas thimble party yesterdyy afternon at her home in Highland street. It was the regular meeting of the Eyelet Embroidery Club and tho members Mrs. Morris entertained Mrs. H. Morganau. The table was decorated in the holiday colors of red and green and during the afternoon a prettily appointed luncheon was served. On account of the holidays the next meeting of the club will bo held in three week instead of two at the home of Mrs. Clyde Pctcrie. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Dock Ward, 4S.9 May street, this morning, a lit lc daughter, Emma Elizabeth. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Tauher at their home. 33 Sibley street, Tuesday December 12th, a son. DEATH OF MR. PATRICK KNIERY Patrick Kniery was born in County Clare, Ireland, in 1S34 and came to Connecticut with his parents, Michael and Mary Kniery in 1S64. The family came to Litchfield, 111., in 1S73. After a brief illness of four days, he died in Hammond, Ind., Sunday evening. Dec. 10, 1916. The funeral was held in All Saints' church, -Hammond, Ind., Dec. 13 at 9 a. m. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. J. Kniery of Peoria, 111., who is a brother of the deceased. Besides this brother the deceased leaves two sisters. Mrs. James Daly of Hammond, and Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Chicago. Among relatives from a distance were Michael Kniery of Litchfield, HI.: Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Brennan of Mount Oliver. 111., and Mr. and Mrs. John Galliger of Chicago, the latter a niece. The pallbearers were Daniel Brennan. William Lacy, James Gallagher. T. J. Brady, J. J. O'Rourke and John Gleason. The funeral party was conveyed to Calvary cemetery, Gary, Ind., in a special funeral ear on the Chicago & Northern Indiana R. P..
