With the close of the -war the entire iino of trenches m France, extending from Alsace to the Belgium border, may be converted into a sort of national sacred forest, as a permanent tribute to th memory of the French "poilus" ho died there defending: their national -oil. A proposition to tbts effect has just li.-en prepared by the general council of the Department of the- Meuse and will soon be submitted to the French sovernment. The plan is to buy the K-miepround from the farmers. Should this plan be finally accepted future generations not only of France, but of Hit; entire world, would always have the opportunity of visiting' the line of i renches over 600 kilometers in length n which the French threw back the tide of German invasion at the battle of the Marne and which till the end of the war will always remain the basis -f France's military effort to rid her soil entirely of the enemy. . December 14. Twin boys were born yesterday to Mr. and Mrs. Agnes Mueller. A daughter was born Dec. 7 to Mr. and Mrs. Foster Graciel. Dec. 9 a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. L. Gross, which died shortly after birth. The funeral of Philip TValrteck and Herbert Peterson who were killed by a train Tuesday afternoon will be held Friday afternoon. Services will be held at the high school auditorium at 2 o'clock and the burial of both will be at Crown Hill cemetery. The funeral of Mrs. B. Hardsock was held yesterday afternoon. Services were held here at the Christian church and the burial was at the Hobart cemetery. Mary, the three-yea- old daughter of B. Hardsock, who has been serionsly 111 with typhoid fever during the past month, is somewhat improved. She was taken to the General hospital at Gary last Sunday.

I Reiner last Thursday afternoon.
