to the factory and home offices of the Savage Tire company at San Diego, Cal. This is the first Visit Mr. Hargis has made to the factory. He has been connected with the Savage Tire corporation for the past nine months, but has been too busy putting hie-plans for distribution into effect to sparo time for a visit to the factory. Mr. Hargis reports that additions to the Savage manufacturing plant recently completed greatly increase the floor pace and that the installing of new equipment Is going forward rapidly. The Savage plant was more than doubled during the past year, and when the present plans of the company are completed, its manufacturing facilities will again increase twofold or more. . Mr. Hargis went on to say that he was fully convinced of tile merits of Savage products before he .visitel the factory and that he knew he was going to find the factory modern and up to date in every detail, but nevertheless ho was agreeably surprised at the size and completeness of the Savage plant. He added that was impressed him most was the "quality first" spirit that pervades the factory. From the start it has. been the aim of the men back of the Savago Tire company to build the best tires and tubes that can be built. With this in mind, they have provided the most modernmachines and the best of materials,, and they have done everything possible
to impress on the minds of the Savage workmen the fact that they are to build every mile of service possible into each Savage tube and each Savage casing. The result is that Savage workmen take pride in their handiwork. . WILD RUN When Jacob Susin, 1301 Jefferson St., south in Jefferson street. Several persons, who tried to intercept the runaway Gary, left his auto, a machine of popular make, outside a saloon at 11th ave nue and Jefferson street he failed to tie it to a post. In the car was Susin's 5-year-old daughter. In a few minut'es probably the child manipulated the machinery the car started to ho. It made a mad dash machine, fell in the ice and snow. At 12th avenue and Jefferson street Officer Bert Ray of the Gary police heard the child's screams and saw the car coming. He tried to bard the machine, but was hurled to the street and was severely injured. The next minute the car swerved from the street and ran up on the sidewalk. It bucked into the plate glass window of Nick Cluna's salloon and then swerved sideways. When Nick, his bartender and the patrons of the place recovered their surprise there was a machine half way in the aloon, the front of the place wrecked, and a little child screaming and covered with blood. The police came and took the little girl to a doctor. Susin will get all the bills today. Only Oae "BKOMO QVUSTUtH" To get the genuine, call for full name, LAXATIVE MROMO QUININE.
