About a year ago Rivers and Mitchell w-ent through a furious ten round mill at Cincinnati, and the clash left some ill feeling on both, sides. ' Friday's encounter may serve to work off some of the surplus dislike engendered by their previous meeting.

EMERSON 10 . FROEBEL MAKE OUT SCHEDULES

CHICAGO. Dec. 7. Fred Fulton tr-jndled in from the Northwest, yesterciay to ask Jess Willard for the first crack at his very valuable heavyweight crown. Fred and Jess did not engage m personal conversation, but their managers did. Frank Force represented the Rochester syeamore, while Thomas Edward Jones did tlia chin 'wagging for the champion. Jones got the newspaper decision. Force is not to be blamed for that, because it is understood that when Thomas Edward is piloting the boss of any class he will do most of the orating in a confab with a person so far beneath him as the manager of a challenger. Jones told Force one thing that impressed him quite forcibly. He frankly informed Frank Forte that Fulton would have to use force and skill enough. in actual ring combat with Frank Moran, Jess' foe of last March In Madison Square Garden, "to encompass the downfall -of the red-headed Irishman in order to get a match with Mr. Wiliard of ogers Park. Jones promised Force that in the event Fulton did enough to Moran that he surely would be given a chance at the championship, before the club offering the best inducements, as Doc Krone of Sheridan road makes matches.
