The New York Evening Cun financial review today says: Vigorous buying from the western wire houses, covering by the short interests and pool activity combined in today's stock market to push up materially the general level of industrial prices under the leadership of steel and copper Issues. From the opening of the market the steel and copper groups took the lea'l and most of the issues advanced to new high record prices. Trading in the first hour wag active in the extreme but there was a period of relative calm in the second hour, when a ne wwave o fbuying set in at mid
day that carried Industrial prices to still higher levels. United States Steel advanced well above 123 and there was a special strength in Gulf States, Bethlehem preferred, Lackawana and Republic.

The opening of the convention of the Indiana Real Estate Association at Evansville Thursday morning found Gary well reprecsnted with the following members: Leonidas B. Boyd, Henry A. The convention is the thlvd annual affair and is proving a big success. At the afternoon session the association heard a discussion of the rural credit law by F. J. H. Vonengelkin, of Washington, director of the mint, and William L Elder, of Indianapolis, spoke of the association's stand on the questlo nof the tax reform.
