Hammond Country Club members expect to put in a very busy day tomor row and with three events in one day expect to wind up their celebration of December in interesting- fashion.. In the afterooon from two to five the club will give its annual Christmas party for the babies and little children up to the are ten years. A huge Christmas tree has been provided and the youngsters will be entertained by a magician who expects to perform mazing stunts for them. Mr. John Hessler former mayor of West Hammond died Wednesday after noon after a lingering Illness of nearly two years. Mr. Hessler was active in the public affairs of West Hammond since its Incorporation as a village. Thirty rears ago he came to Hammond from the "fatherland" to seek his fortune here and he has lived here ever since. Mr. Hessler was a Veteran of the Franco-Prussian war of 1871, a member of the German Krleg-er Vereln, Court Glueck Auf Independent Order of Foresters and the German Singing Society Fidelia. He is survived by four daughters and one son. Funeral Sunday 1:30 p. m. from late residence to Oak Hill cemetery. CARD OF THANKS. To the members of the L. C. B.
