Girl Is Recovering. Pretty 17-year-old Janette Brueckner, 179 Michigan avenue, who attempted to commit suicide last Friday afternoon, when she raised the contents of a "vial of carbolic acid to her lips and drained the contents, is still confined to her bed at the home of her sister and is reported gradually improving this morning. She will recover. The girl, it is said, purchased the acid a week ago with the intention of drinking it. Following an argument with her sister last Friday afternoon she carried out her plan. She was fearfully burned from the deadly effects of the acid and it was only a heroic f.ght against death that Dr. A. Young was able to save her life. Despondency is thought to have been the reason for her rash act.
