ENTERTAINS WITH CARDS. The members of the Sunshine Club spent a pleasant afternoon yesterday with Mrs. J. P. Ryan at her home In Claude street. Mrs. Ryan entertained with cards, the guests playing pedro progressively at two tables. Mrs. Charles Luthman won the first honors and prizes were also won by Mrs. C. E. Jackson and Mrs, Charles Hubbard. The consolation prize was awarded to

guests for the afternoon were the members of the Colonial Club who met

for their regular semi-monthly meeting

Mrs. E. A. Berquist. The guests brought their needle work and spent the afternoon in a delightful social way. A dainty two course luncheon was served at five o'clock. The next club meeting will occur In two weeks on Thursday afternoon. A SOCIAL GATHERING. Fedro was played by the members of Sewing Circle No. 2 of St. Margaret's Hospital who met yesterday afternoon with Mrs. William Bleker at her home

in Ogden street. There was a large at

tendance of the members and with them Jdra. , Bleker entertained a num? ber of other guests. The games were played progressively at five tables during the afternoon, and prizes were won by Mrs. Rascher, Mrs. Ward and' Mrs. Emmerling. The guest prize was won by Mrs. Peter Halfman. A prettily appointed luncheon was served at five o'clock after several games of cards had been enjoyed. The meeting yesterday will be the last until after the holidays and the nexf'hostess will be named later. AN A LI. DAY SESSION.

The members of the Martha Society

of the First Christian church met at

the home of Mrs. John M. Stinson in

Waltham street yesterday for an all

day session. It was a work meeting and the members accomplished a great

deal of sewing for the bazaar which

will be given under their auspices at the holiday time. They will have for sale many fancy and useful articles of needle work which will make appropriate Christmas gifts. Other business of Importance came up for discussion.
