C. team to put in their appearance at the East Chicago park last Sunday afternoon a large crowd of football fans were disappointed. The nonappearance of the Inglesides Is thought to be due to the fact that they suffered a 26 to 0 defeat at the hands of the East Chicago Gophers earlier In the season and were in fear of receiving another trouncing. " The Gophers now hold the lightweight championship of the region, having eliminated the following contenders: Hammond Maroons, Homewood A. Another aensational Gary cas was filed In Judge Preat's court at Hammond yesterday afternoon when Marie Ionecy of Gary brought serious charges against Stephan Jeraby, employed in a Broadway meat market. Constable Ray Phelps caused Jeraby'a arest last night and bond was furnished for his appearance before Judge Prest -Monday morning, November 24. The complaining witness states that she has been living with Jeraby as his common law wife for a number of months and that about six months ago she brought him to Gary from his native land In Roumania.. During the time they have been living together as man and wife the plaintiff complains that Jeraby took some of her money. It is also said that a breach of promise suit is now pending against Jeraby In the superior court LANSING. . Mrs. Kause of Bernlce, a Lansing suburb, met with a very serious and painful accident Saturday that for a time threatened the loss of her right eye. A nail from a piece of wood she was hammering flew up and penetrated the eyeball.
