A AFTERNOON PARTY. Mrs. A. C. Deaver entertained a number of gjests very delightfully yesterday afternoon at her home in Mott avenue. West Hammond. It was the afternoon for the regular meeting of the Eyelet Kmbroiilery Club and with the members Mij. Deaver entertained Mrs. Harry Folk and Mrs. AV. Patterson. A part of the afternoon was deToted to needle work after which the hostess served her guests with a prettily appointed two course luncheon. The table was decorated attractively with flowers. In two weeks from Kriday aftcrnoon Mrs. I... J. Haefer will entertain the members of the club at a thimble party at her homo in Truman avenue. ant affair and characterized by a lively

dance program featured by an eight

o'clock start and a midnight closing with an hour out for refreshments

which were served in the dining room.

A number of out of town guests were

present and about thirty-five couple

were In attendance. The dances at the Country Club have been marked this setison by new interest on account of

the new dance movements In which lo

cal society folk are becoming very pro-

fiiclent. The club's next party will be on Thursday, Nov. 20. It will be Ger

man vaudeville night and the entertainment committee promises a very novel program. On Thanksgiving eve. Nov. 26 the club will give Its first formal dinner dance of the year and this promises to be a -very elaborate event.

MARTHA SOCIETY MEETS. The members of the Martha Society held their regular weekly meeting yesterday afternoon in the parlors of the First Christian church in Calumet avenue. It was decided not to give the Thanksgiving dinner for which arrangements had been made. Refreshments were served. ANMAL HARVEST SIPPER. This evening from five to eight o'clock the ladies of the First Presbyterian church will serve mpper In the parlors of the church In South Hohman street. Mrs. Helen Twiss and Mrs. J. C. Craves served as chairman and vice chairman of the committee on arrangements. An excellent menu has been chosen.

ENTERTAINS AT DINNER. Mrs. A. K. Murden entertained at a prettily appointed dinner at one o'clock yesterday at her home, 4S 150th street. The afternon was spent pleasantly with needle work and" music. The guests spent a very delightful time. Those present were Mrs. Lehman of Frankfort. HOBART LADY TAKENBY DEATH (Special to Tan Timer.) Hobart, Ind., Nov. 14. Mrs. Jennie Harrison, who has been sick for the past six weeks, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brown on Wednesday. She was 67 years old and leaves a brother and sister and many other relatives. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Godwin at the M. E. church on Saturday at 2 p. m. and the Interment will be at Crown Hill cemetery.
