Jimmy Clabby announces this morning that he will leave for San Francisco the first part of next week where he will start in training for his twenty round encounter with Frank Logan who is touted to be one of the best middlewelghts cn the coast. That Jimmy Is still a favorite among the
Pacific coast fans is shown by the fact
that they are eager tu see him get back on the western soil where he eliminated Eddie McGoorty, Sailor Grande, Freddie Hicks, and several others from the middleweight ranks. According to Clabby, Losran Is a tough boy, as well as scientific with his mitts and under-pins and will in all probability put up a stiff scrap. That Logan has a large number of admirers Is demonstrated by the fact that they are posting considerable coin on the westerner, although It is expected that the Hammond Idol will be the favorite at the ring side. Clabby will start in training immed
iately after his arrival at San Fran
cisco. His training camp will be sit
uated outside of San Francisco, at the
same quarters whero he prepared for
his battle with Sailor Grande. As
Clabby is almost down to weight at
present, he will need but little hard
work to put him in condition. Jimmy is confident that he will bring back

THE INTEREST Interest is waning in the Saloon
keepers' Association and officers plan a campaign to boost the membership a;-.d bring out those who are not active
now.
The truth is that there are backslid
ers ir. the Hammond Saloonkeepers' Association. Yesterday the old faith
fuls who went to attend a meeting of the society in Moose Hall found as they have on two previous dates that there wasn't a quorum.
J. P. Smith, secretary, says that
many of the members are going out
of business, but that Isn't any excuse.
It will be remembered that when the
eaioonmen and their wives went to Cedar Lake on a picnic the crowd was
throe hundred strong.
So secretary Smith and Tom Nevills, the president have decided to give
them some indoor picnics and bring
more out. These affairs will be a
combination smoker and lunch. They ought to revive interest.
George-Stone, John Turner and E. L.
Allnut are some of the big saloonmen
that have gone out of business.
