Johnstone entertained last night at the home of the former, the occasion being the Joint birthday celebration of both hostesses. There were about fifty present. Extensive arrangements have been made to give everybody a good time and a large crowd is expected. Mrs. J. Larson of Hemlock street, was a Chicago visitor yesterday. A girl baby was born Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carlson, 3910 Elm street. Mr. and Mrs. A Anderson have gone to South Bend to spend a week or two with Mrs. Anderson's relatives. On their way iome they will stop at Michigan City where they have friends, spending a day or so with them. In a game featured by long runs and
open style football the Gophers beat Jollet. Art Lennons, to the tunt of 41 to 0. At no time were the Jollet boys within 35 yards of the Indiana Harbor goal. The Gophers scored in the first period on straight line bucks and S. Black counted the flgrst touchdown. Gumbart, the Gophers star half back repeated in the next quarter. The score at the finish of the second quarter was Gophers 14, Jollet 0. At the start of the third period Perkins circled Jollet's right end for 45 yard and a touch-down. A few minutes later R. Black counted on a very prettry run. The quarter ended with the score 27 to 0. In the last quarter S. Black scored his second touchdown, going through tackle for 20 yards. ANGEL BELIES FRONT NAME Angel Andrews, whose name belles his reputation, was arrested yesterday In Indiana Harbor by Officers Genensanskl and Murphy on a charge of lar ceny that has been pending against him since October 11. On the morning of that day Manolis Magrozolis swore out a warrant for Andrews' arrest, claiming that the latter had stolen his pocketbook containing quite a sum of money. The pair roomed together in a house at Deodar and 136th street and on October 10 they retired as usual. The following morning Magrozolis awoke to find his wallet missing. Also his partner was nowhere in evidence, having gone while Magrozolis slept, bag and baggage. Magrozolis complained to Sergeant

Hughes of the Indiana Harbor station, who traced the alleged thief to Chicago, but as the fugitive had a few hours' start, the clue :nded before the man was landed. Chicago headquarters was applied to for aid, but without results, until yesterday when word was wafted into the Indiana Harbor station that the man who was wanted had slipped Into Indiana Harbor and was then with friends in Block avenue. Sergeant Hughes sent the two officers named to the address given with the results above stated. Andrews will be given a hearing some time today.
GARY "TECHS" AND CLABBYS In their effort to settle the gridiron supremacy between their respective teams the Clabby A. A. of Hammond and the Gary Techs will line up in a second battle of the season at Harrison park next Sunday afternoon. Last Sunday the Clabbys and Gary Techs fought to a 0-0 score at the Ambridge field at Gary. With both teams as evenly matched as two squads could be the coming battle is expected to draw a record breaking attendance.
