volunteers and notified the pumping station at the Standard Oil company for more pressure and to cut oft all the water supply in the plant. With this done the pressure was found much stronger and it being almost impossible to aave the church, work was started to protect adjoining buildings. Luckily the wind was not strong and the firemen were able' to keep the blaze from' spreading. The blaze was under control at 1 o'clock. The church was valued at $6,000 and

caused a loss of nearly $5,000. It is said that $2,500 insurance was carried on the church and the building was

practically destroyed. The conflagra
