Hot Weather Don'ts A MONO the hot weather don'ts that annually appear in papers all over the country the one that appeals moat to housekeepers Is. "Never serve heavy meals In summer." Poor thins she's ready to give up the "serving of meals, light or heavy, at this stage of the game, an the difficult part of the wa rn weather catering is that most of the very rourlshing foods are heating to the blood and most of the cooler foods ar not nourishing. The first thing to consider In the making of a menu at all seasons is balance. The housewife should try to arrange the light meals for the hot days and to welcome an occasional cool spell to serve the nutritive foods that are so essential to the preservation of strength. Red meat s!ould be used as little as possible In hot weather. At a meal where It la served the rest of the menu should be light, such as a simple vegetable and an iced dessert. On the other hand, when meat is sot on the bill of fare plenty of nourishment in otiier forms should be providedAa Iced Jellied broth Is appetizing vand nutritive. Fish, cold or hot. a salad and an Ice make a good selection for dinner. Don't play tennis or take long walks If you are feeling tired and "done up."

Yale Wins At Sedalia.
Fifteen thousand people saw E. C. Brunkhorst, on a Tale single, "clean up" at the motorcycle race which featured the Fourth of July celebration at the State Fa'r Grounds in Sedalia, Mo. Brunkhorst won two of the three events of the day. annexing the 5-mile race for singles as well as the 10-mlle handicap race. Despite the poor condition of the track fast time was made, the 5-inile race being made in 6 mln., 40 sec. and the 10-mlle race in 14 mlnu., 10 see. Special racing machines ar3 not turned out at the Yale factory, as the management refuses to countenance other than road races and endurance contests; but whenever individual riders try their hand at track raciip, the Yale invariably gives them all the power and speed necessary to "keep up with the procession."
