$10,000 CANADIAN TROT TO OUTSIDER Fort Erie. Ont.. July 24. The biggest surprise of the season was sprung in the $10,000 stake for 2:16 trotters here yesterday afternoon. The race was won by Tenara, who sold for $15 in $400 pools. Billy Andorews started both Uncle Biff and Tenara. The first named was the favorite and was driven by Andrews, while he entrusted the mare to Jimmy F.enyon, the boy driver. Uncle Biff was very unsteady in the first two heats, while young Benyon took Tenara to the front and won both rounds very easily from Judson Girl. Uncle PUT got oft flying in the final heat and the stablemates had a hot battle all the way. In a desperate drive Benyon landed Tenara a winner by a nose.

In a realistic Siberian nightmare the Cubs regained some of their self-respect, and incidentally third place, yesterday by humiliating the Phillies In the third game of the series, 13 to 8. As nearly as could be ascertained by careful auditing, there were twentynine athletes engaged in the combat, of whom nineteen did not wear Cub uniforms. These athletec made thirtyone real base hits, not including a couple of the "Cincinnati" variety, which do not appear elsewhere in this issue. They perpetrated six errors, but these were so infrequent compared to the swatting that they atraced only passing attenion. ARE COMING Touring the middle west for the tenth time the Boston Bloomers are coming to Forsythe Park July 24th for a game with the St. Michaels of South Chicago. The Bloomers are ball players purporting to be all women. It is common rumor that the pitcher at least is a man. Some seasons they are good looking and others they are not.
