Farley had become sole owner of the Lyric theatre on Main street, he having purchased the moving picture concern from the Jointowners, Wheeler, Cleveland and Handley, the deal being closed yesterday. Mr. Farley affirmed the purchase of the amusement place last evening to a Times reporter, and stated that he would assume entire control of the theatre on August 1. Few che-ngen will be made in the management of the place as far as the attractions go and Mr. Farley states that he Intends to keep the "movie house" up to Its present standard of efficiency and excel
lence as far as first class Alms and municai specialties are concerned. Later on he expects to add many features that will be a drawing card to Crown Point audiences. Mr. Farley will continue in the real estate and Insurance business also at his present business' location. A Justice of the peace law suit In which Griffith parties are the chief contenders, will be heard in Judge At-kl-i's court today. John Hull, a prominent cltien of Griffith being charged by Jake Miller, also of that place, with assault and battery. It seems as If Miller drove over some land, owned by Hull, with a load of hay recently, when he wa attacked by the latter and somewhat beaten up. Miller now demands satisfaction and surcease from his alleged Injuries and Judge Atkins will try his hand in dls-hlng up the required amount of Justice. In the case of the State of Indiana vs. Stanley Ktosowskl, venued from

Gary to Mayor Krost's court in which the defendant is charged with assault on the person of Rose Szawtoski, the defendant was placed under $100 bonds to appear before Mayor Krost to answer the charges on July 26. Both parties in the case are from Gary and the evidence presented yesterday was enough to determine Mayor Krost in placing; th defendant under bond for his hearing on Saturday afternoon. The Crown Point baseball team will play the Gary Works team at Erie park on Sunday f.fternoon and Manager Wagner expects to have the toughest battle of the season with the strong team from he neighboring city. The Gary team has been playing a high class article of ball this season and Crown Point will have to play ball at every stage of the game to win from the visitors. A few lone katydids have been heard duVlng the evenings of the last week, which according to the old time weather prophets, forecasts frost in six weeks time. The katydid sign is however prety much on the order of the groundhog sign, both leaving a very small margin to be or not to be on. Miss Mabel Brown is visiting with Pr. and Mrs. Robert Krost in Chicago today. Pete Henning still keeps going the winning stride for the Kansas City Federals, winning a nice game for his team mates yesterday and being given excellent support. Henning now has the reputation of winning more games than any pitcher in the Federal league. This record this season will insure him a good berth next year.

Stand By The Flag Let us twine each thread of the glorious tissue of our country's flag about our heart strings, and looking upon our homes and catching the spirit which breathes upon us from the battlefield of our fathers, let us resolve that, come weal or woe, we will in life and death, now nd forever stand by the Stare and Stripes. They have floated over our oradles; let It be our prsyer and our struggle that they shall float over our graves. They have been unfurled from the snows of Canada to the plains of New Orleans, to the halls of the Montezumas, and amid the solitude of every sea, and everywhere, as the luminous symbol of resistless and beneficlent power, and they led the brave and free to victory and to glory.
