E IS OPENED The Indiana Harbor bath house and bathing beach put in by the city last year and improved considerably this spring, was officially opened yesterday when a half dozen boys with wild shrieks of glee donned bathing suits and plunged into the surf for their first swim of the season. The water was a trifle chilly, but they pronounced "it "Ann after vou a-at used to it." , Ben Flshman. hereafter to be known ' I as "Bath House Hen." has been granted the concession for the renting of bathing suits at 15 cents each, with towels and soap if desired, the pop and soft drink concession, the popcorn, peanut and crackerjack concession, and in fact all the privileges that go with an up--to-date bathing beach. He draws no salary from the city for his care of the bathhouse, but expects to do a land office business shortly from the renting of bathing suits, etcetera. He expects to derive considerable trade from the mill men who have heretofore depended ' largely on the canal, which is most dangerous, for a swim after their "turns," and by which practice several mill men have lost their lives. If Sunday is a good day there will doubtless be a considerable crowd out to test the advantages of the new bathhouse, as the last few days of hot weather have done considerable toward making the water acceptable to bathers.
