BANQUET AT EAST CHICAGO FOR AH. ENJOYABLE AFFAIR

NOTICE. Hereafter occupants of the tennis courts In public parks will not be allowed to play more than one hour while other are waiting. 14-St PETER FOX. Supt.

The East Chicago high school alumni banquet was held last night at the Methodist Episcopal church and with its conclusion drew to a close the commencement festivities for 1913. The banquet was the largest, and according to the opinion of many, the most enjoyable affair of the kind ever held under the association's auspices. One hundred diners surrounded the festive board and listened to an excellent program of music and toasts, be

tween courses of a very ta.ty menu.

The star cooks of the Ladies' Social

union, which organization served the

banquet, were right up to 'the scratch

In the matter of "good eats' and sustained their reputation for excellence in the art. The service, too, was of the

best and everything went off without

a hitch.

It had been the intention to seat the

guests at small tables, but early in the event It was seen that this would be Impossible, owing to the large number to be served, so intead there were

three long tables which extended the

full length of the dining room. These were decorated In Killarney roses, the

flower of the class of 1913.

The program opened with a piano
