one of the most delightful affairs of commencement week. A seven-thirty o'clock dinner will be served. after

Miss Emma Schmidt Becomes Bride of Charles Creasbaum.

city and Charles Creasbaum of Hammond took place on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the German Lutheran

church. The nuptial service was per

formed by Rev. John Hopp. the ring

ceremony being used. Miss Mamie

Bollinger served as maid of honor.

as bridesmaids. Herman Schmid, brother of the bride, served as best man to the bridegroom, while William Smith, cousin of the bride, and Elmer

Creasbaum, brother of the groom, act

ed as ushers. After the service at the

church the guests went to the home

of the bride at 617 Fred street, where

an elaborate dinner was served and a

most enjoyable evening was spent. The

young couple left for Chicago over the

Jjake ishore at 9:38 accompanied by a number of friends. From there they left for Michigan to be gone for two

weeks. The bride is the only daugh

ter of Mrs. Schmid of Fred street and

has for several years held a responsible position in the candle works at the Standard Oil company. She is a gen

eral favorite wherever known and her

many friends here are wishing her the best of luck. The groom is the son

of Mr. and Mrs. S. Creasbaum and re

sides at 635 Indiana avenue, Hammond

Upon their return from their wedding

A very beautiful wedding was solemnized this morning at nine o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church when Miss Monica Catherine Krost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Krost became the bride of Roy Joseph Garceau of Tacoma, Wash. The service was the firt-t to be held in the handsome new church In South Hohman street and the auditorium was lllert with the relativee -and many friends of the families. Among the out of town guests were many from Chicago and Crown Point, Ind. Nuptial high mass was nolemnisied by the Rev. Father IT. M. Plaster. The ring ceremony was used. The bridal gown was an exquisite one of white silk crepe draped over white satin and trimmed with flounces of Chantllly and Duchess laco and ropes of pearls. Mr. Garceau is the junior member of the fl.rm of Edward Garceau and Son, merchants of Tacoma, Wash. He is a Forester and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mrs. Garceau is

the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Krost of 32 Doty street. She has lived In Hammond for several y srs and has a large' circle of frlend6. After her graduation from St. Joseph's parochial school she attended St. Marys

of the Woods at Terra Haute, Ind. Since then she has been employed as a stenographer In the office of the General Manager of the C. I. & S. R. R. at Gibson: She Is one of Hammond's charming girls and very prominent in the younger social set. She is a member of the R. C. C. Club and also of the M - T. Club. The faculty and a number of guests met with the high school students to listen to the program. Miss Adele Dunbar, chairman. The Seniors went to the home of Miss Kuth Hathaway In Bauer street ear'.y in the evenlg to await of the other dasf-e. After visiting the homes of several of the Seniors they were found at the Hathaway home. After serenading them with several pretty songs the Seniors Invited the members of the Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes to be their guests at a party at the essembly hall. The hall was beautifully decorated with the class colors and palms and ferns. Games and conttits were a feature of the evening and Informal dancing was enjoyed ry a number of the young people. The rooms were fitted vp by the members of the Eastern Star and the rythian Sisters. These ladies have shown a great deal of interst In the work of the house, being present at the public meetings and co-operating with the workers in many ways.
