Decoration day In Crown Point thla year was observed In a befitting manner, and the boy scouts, who were primarily responsible for the exercises) throua-hout the day covered themselves with glory. In spite ' of threatening weather In the morning; the crowds begen to come to the city and early in the day the cemeteries were well filled with people to decorate the graves of thir departed. - The regular march and procession to the cemetery commenced at 10 o'clock, the column forming on the public square. The parade was the biggest and best seen here In years, the lodges turning out especially well. The boy scouts mad a fine ap
pearance and were well ' drilled. Through their efforts the school children formed a long line of mardi and the two floats containing fifty or mora flower girl were a pretty spectacle In the long parade. The usual solemn memorial rites were observed by the G. A. R. members at th cemetery and the graves of the departed war heroes strewn with flowers. In the afternoon the crowd repaired to Central . Musla hall where appropriate exercises were held. Rev. McEensie delivered a fin address, touching on the many themes appropriate to the occasion. Time and space forbids giving the prrfgram In Its entirety, but it closed one of the most universally observed Memorial days ever held In the city. The boy scouts are -to be congratulated upon their untiring and well directed efforts to make the occasion a memorable one, ' and they have the thanks of the O. A. R. members and all those interested in a fitting observance of Decoration day as it should be.
