At a special meeting of the city council held last night for the purpose of naming an alderman from the fourth ward, to succeed Mr. E. A. Krost whom was recently named as mayor. Claude W. Allman, was appointed, the resolution naming him as the council's choice being adopted without a dissenting vote. The council's selection of Mr. Allman will be a popular one, he being one of Crown Point's able and progressive business men, a large property owner and well versed in municipal affairs. Under the town regime, Mr. Allman held office as city clerk for a number of years and his administration of the affairs of that office at the time proved to be one of the best in the town's history. Mr. Allman had no opposition, he being the only candidate mentioned for the honor at last evening's session. He will probably qualify for the new position toay. The Lets Manufacturing company in order to keep pace with their growing business have commenced the erection of a mammoth warehouse at, the factory site this week and will rush it to completion as soon as possible. The company's business is growing by leaps and bounds and several large additions have ben added to the plant during the last four years. Marie, the nineteen months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peterson living on Harrington avenue died yesterday. The funeral services will be held at the home on Sunday afternoon the. interment being at the Crown Point cemetery. Dr. A. F. Salisbury and J. W. Ott were the innocent instigators of a runaway accident yesterday while automobiling to their ranch in Jasper county.
