' Who will buy the office and real estate of the Lincoln-Jefferson Collfge of Law? There are a number of suggestions made for Its disposal. One Is that the Hammond Woman's Club buy.lt for a permanent home. Another Is that the Christian Science church buy it for the use of its congregation. One of the suKgrestions that has been made Is that the Presbyterian church
buy the property and utilise the build
ing: for club rooms for the members.
Church clubs have been a prreat success In other cities in promotine a
greater interest in the church organization. It is believed that the property will be purchased for about a half or two thirds of what It originally cost. The reason for this is that the building is such that it is not adapted to anything but dug purposes. The land upon which the building stands is said to have cost $10,000 to $1,200 and the bufldlng cost $20,000. So it is expected that 'Wihen the forced sale of the prop
erty takes place. that It will not brine much more than $15,000.
No matter who buys the property a
score of heads have been figuring out to what use It could be put. The matter of its disposition will be interesting.
The Christian Science church moved
Into the upper floors ot the building to
day and this would , Indicate that the
congregation may try to finance the
purchase of the property.
